While flying at 30,000 feet above sea level to San Juan Islands, the views kept changing as we progressed over California, Oregon, Washington with myriad patterns below. I sketched feverishly with plans to use these for potential designs (with modifications) when home again. Thoughts of watercolor paintings zipped through my mind. Then multi-media collages popped in as perhaps a better choice.
So now I'm back in my studio again in Cambria (on the central coast of California) with varied papers, fabric bits, and acrylic paints in an assortment before me waiting while I look over my brief sketches done in flight. To design a pleasing composition, choose from the array of materials and determine colors..oh so many choices! Best begin now...
