| A wide variety of landscapes may be seen in the gallery. Under the teaching of Janie Gyer, noted artist of California's Yosemite National Park area, I began utilizing colors in new ways, and painted in a representational manner. Rushing waterfalls, rivers, boulders and tall pines captured my interest. The Sierra Nevada mountain range offers a gorgeous array of scenery.
I've had the pleasure of living in a small cluster of homes called Cascadel Woods, enroute to high Sierra mountains and about an hour from central valley city of Fresno. Many of my paintings were created in these regions, and also a short distance to the playland of Bass Lake and Oakhurst where several art galleries and pleasant shopping are found.
Mountain people are relaxed and exude good humors. Generally they are vibrant and sturdy, and happy to offer a hand to help you out. Such fine folks have encouraged my efforts, resulting in my first sale in a thriving event called "Art in the Garden" sponsored by NorthFork library, Wednesday Painters, and others. The entire area is inspirational with its abundance of wildlife, weather changes, and vast array of flora and fauna.
Back to Fresno, under the guidance of watercolorist teachers Robin McCline, Monte Guynes, Ann Lewis and others, my work evolved from representational to a more impressionistic style. Florals, still lifes, and some figurative work was done during this period.

| In July, 2006, I moved from Fresno to Cambria and here the Pacific Ocean and coastal hillsides are points of inspiration. Exploring acrylic painting and the use of varied papers and silk fabrics in collage is my newly found pleasure. Boldly inventive and charged with movement, I like this newer style of a more abstract painting. I hope you do too!
