With excitement and a rush of anticipation in what may happen on paper or canvas, I want to capture my vision, whether a scene ahead of me plein air, or an idea within my mind. This particular moment is unique and will never again occur, and so with intentions for a happy outcome I begin.
Photos I've taken remind me of varied world travels and offer inspiration in my studio when I want an additional boost. Often the snapshot helps me recall an event from childhood, people, or sites visited, and the memory urges me forward.
I'm so absorbed in the work, time is of no consequence. I want this creation to be a pleasure to see. Watercolor painting is my usual choice of media, and I consider colors and design. I may decide to create a collage of many sorts of silks, papers, or work with acrylics. In any case, I generally draw several small thumbnail value sketches in planning.
When the painting is about done, I put it aside for a few days. When I pull it out again, I may notice nuances of shape or colors and wish to add more, or decide that it is ready for my signature. My hope is that you see a special quality in it, and so become a keeper for you!
My gallery offers only a few of the many I produce. I'll happily answer your concerns or questions. My work is guaranteed to brighten up spots in your home or office. When you see your wish, hoorah!--It will be sent to you immediately. Your selection is yours with money order, PayPal, or your credit card.
I hope you will return to visit often as you may see several more pieces you like. I welcome your comments in my guest book also. Notice my short 'how to' newsletters. With your request, you may receive a useful series on your chosen topic. Check back often as I continue to add new categories.
